Do I have to be in North Carolina (other states she serves) to be seen?

In order to receive care through Primary Care Psychiatry, you must reside in one of the states where Dr. Caro is licensed to practice. This ensures that all treatment is provided in full compliance with state telehealth and medical licensing regulations.

What time zone are my telehealth appointments scheduled in?

All telehealth appointments with Dr. Caro are scheduled in Eastern Time (ET). If you live in a different time zone, please double-check the time difference when booking so you don’t miss your appointment. For example, if you live in Central Time, a 3:00 PM ET appointment will be at 2:00 PM your time. If you’re unsure, Dr. Caro is happy to help confirm the correct time for your visit.

How do mental health medications work?

Mental health medications work by helping balance the chemicals in your brain that affect mood, thoughts, and emotions. Different medicines can help target different symptoms. For example, some help reduce feelings of sadness or worry, while others can help improve focus/stabilize mood swings. These medications are not intended to change who you are. Instead, they give your brain the support it needs to work more smoothly. It may take time to find the right medicine and dose, which is why working closely with Dr. Caro is so important.
